Open Source is all about contributions. Countless numbers of developers are all giving of their time and talents to code, document, test, design, and deliver software so that the end user may benefit from it. The Open Source Lab is here to contribute resources to the community, allowing developers to focus on what they do best rather than having to spend time worrying about system resources and hosting. To continue operating, we need your contributions as well. We can make good use of, and ask for the following contributions:

Monetary Donations

At the end of the day, there are bills to pay. We have costs to cover for bandwidth, facilities, and human resources (see our People page to meet our team of sysadmins!). A monetary contribution to the OSL helps us to not only continue in the same level of service as we have in the past, but to expand as more resources become available. This allows us to open up hosting and resources to more Open Source projects. To see a list of currently hosted projects that your contribution will benefit, visit our Clients and Partners page. Our financial contributions are handled by the Oregon State University Foundation. Click here to open the online donation form. Please specify your amount in the box marked "Other", where you will see "Open Source Lab" specified. You can also phone a contribution to the OSU Foundation at (800) 354-7281 and specify that your gift is for the Open Source Lab in Information Services. Rackathon

We are looking for individuals to help sponsor the OSL in our new fundraising campaign. However, this is a campaign like no other. When you make a donation to the OSL, we will stick your name on one of our racks as our own way of saying "Thanks!". These racks host some of the top names in open source software. You can see a list of the projects you are supporting to the right of this page or by visiting our clients page.

For just a $20 donation to help sponsor our operations, we will put your name on a rack in 10pt. font for a year! You can also find your name listed on our site here.

Hardware

We have learned that no piece of hardware goes unused here in the lab. We work with hardware vendors who want to contribute to Open Source Software, matching their gear up with the projects that are in most need. In many cases we can take a server and virtualize it, meaning a handful of projects can all benefit from the same box. Time and Talents

We have projects developed in-house and we are always looking for talented developers to contribute.
